his official entry to the all new PXP Homebrew Competition. Ladies and gentlement, let us welcome Lil' Fighter 1.00 Beta. And like the name implies, it is based on the computer game Little Fighter 2.
Notes for this version: To those not in the know, Little Fighter 2 is a beat'em up title created in 1999. It is very popular among players because of the rather simple and engaging gameplay. Most of all, the game can be acquired all over the net for free. Now, the PSP homebrew version can be installed by copying "Lil' Fighter" directory to ms0:/PSP/GAME. Custom frimware users, likewise, should put it in ms0:/PSP/GAME150.

mod of Mario Don't Drop the PSP
Notes for this version: * Catch as many "Minutes to Midnight" as possible
* Avoid any Hip-Hop
* Cut down the waiting time for the album
It's a funny take on the game series, though it could really use a change in sound to fit the new mood of the game series.

xmb wave pack for the psp
Notes for this version: Pharonyk has finally released version 2 of his Plasma LollerWAVES pack in the QJ forums. This new versions sees the disappearance of the "horrible outlines" (Pharonyk's words) and the addition of color. It's also been tweaked a bit so that you can actually read the XMB's text if you use it. Pharonyk also sends shout-outs to "Vulpix for the injector and the Duality Wave for one of my waves."

Reads lua scripts
Notes for this version: * It will first un-assign the flash0 device/driver, than reassign it with write-read privileges.
* Then, it will back up your current 01-12.bmp (xmb themes image).
* Then finally, you press the [X] button to flash your own 01-12.bmp you want to replace your now old ones with (But dont worry if you dont like the new xmb background theme, as your old one is backed up).
* It loads the one you want as your XMB background theme from ms0:/01-12.bmp, and the backup is saved the same, but with a .backup suffix
* Once done with it all, press START to return to lowser, or press HOME and go back to XMB and see how it looks.
Warning: this LuaPlayer mod has flashing capabilities. Newbies and noobs should NOT flash their PSPs unless they know what they're doing.
Before you use this application, please be sure that you know what you are doing. As we all know, any kind of flashing involves a lot of risks. SG57 mentioned that he has added several security measures to the application but the bricking rate is still relatively high.

GPS Reciever/Map
Notes for this version: Features:
The PSP-290 version has some optimizations which may prevent it from hanging in 3.10 FW..
Faster reverse geodata lookup function...
Hopefully better rendering in GPS mode...
* GPSlim version features most of the things rolled out for PSP-290 version:
* SAT INFO screen (although display is slightly different from PSP-290 due to difference in GPS feeds)
* Better trip stats logic - you can now jump in to map mode w/o loosing the trip stats.
* Map rotation in map mode
* Faster reverse geodata lookup
* alpha sort in map/attraction menues..
* Note: NMEA recording is currently disabled, untill I workout a better logic and interface to support it..
Since GPS-mode rendering logic was changed in both versions you may need to adjust SPEEDFACTOR value in config.txt to allow smother scrolling...

GPS Reciever/Map
Notes for this version: * Generic serial GPS receivers support (Holux gpslim236-240, M1000-1200 and others) for slim psp
* One version of the program (FW3.XX) supports both PSP-290 and Holux receivers.
* Type of receiver can now be selected via configuration screen:
* ENABLESERIALPORT=1 - Holux / serial port gps devices
* ENABLESERIALPORT=0 - PSP-290 support (Note that due to FW limitations the version for 1.0-1.5 firmware does not have support for PSP-290 receiver).
* WIFI upload should now work in all versions of the program. (must be enabled with LOADWIFI=1 flag)
* Variable map scroll speed (controlled via CURSORSPEED=..)
* Zoom in/out animation (toggled with SMOOTHZOOM=1)
* Smooth transition between 2D and bird-view modes
* Sound output controlled programatically in FW3.xx version. (applies to serial port gps devices only)
* If during program starup the audio/serial connector is not plugged in, the sound is routed to internal speakers.
* Rotating POI icons, better rendering of compass arrows, etc
* Numerous rendering optiomizations (as of v05.05)
* Misc bug fixes
* Code cleanup
* Source code included
MapThis! v0.5.20 comes with its own Readme.txt which contains information on installation and other reminders from Deniska. Be sure to read the documentation first before doing anything to avoid any problems.

This demo is never going to become a full game.
It lags at certain points but could be sped up 90%, I didn't give a kwap though to put more time into it.
I only did this to be able to say, "Stop with the effiing cheap ass 2D games."
I'm mother effiing tired of seeing "OMG, 2D Halo" orrr "2D Mario" orr "2D Mario texture edit to make it look like 2D Sonic"
The PSP scene needs new life
My little Mario Demo is just a taste of what could be done if one actually tries (with just 6 days to code it + 1 day to port it to the PSP)
Come on PSP scene, get with the program
Anyways, enjoy
Notes for this version: Source:
(I suggest if one is to try to "finish" this, to start from scratch just using poly.c and math.c)

At the start of the game, you have four lives to squander. The game is pretty easy, move about the area using the left and right arrows then you just have to wait for the PSP to fall on Mario. If you're in a hunt for a game with great gfx, then don't go for this one because this is a pretty simple game. But the obsessive-compulsive in me just can't let those poor PSPs fall, so I ended up trying to catch all them falling PSPs. In a way, its addicting, the only problem we had with this game is that it seems to not have a pause button, and while I am writing this article, I just lost my second life, grrr!
Notes for this version: Changelog:
* Two new levels
* One block who will kill ya
* One suprise level
* Changed menu background
* Music added
* New in game background added
* Code optimised
* Added a mushroom for extralife

Notes for this version: Mario comes back to save a platform other than his own in v3.5 of Mario Don't Drop The PSP (or else...). v3.5 differs from the last version only in that DreaDNoughT and Kid101skater tossed in a new "Speed Boost" feature, activated by Square, for Mario to run after hard-to-reach PSPs on the other side of the widescreen. Also tossed in for good measure is that Mario is now (kinda) animated.
That Boost bar is highly limited; every level-up, you gain 1/4th of the bar back. Still no enemies coming out from the side, as someone once suggested, but running after a falling PSP is hard work enough at the higher levels. Trust us: after a 9-to-5 of catching falling PSPs, dodging Flying Wiimotes of Doom (TM), and scooping crayons off our backsides, the only thing left on our mids is trying to get home breathing.
Thanks for dropping the tip, joshrulez2!

What has Mario done that no other PSP character, superhero, and mythical figure combined haven't done yet? Save PSPs from falling of course. So what if Superman saves the world on a daily basis? So what if the gods of Olympus can decide to change our fate on a whim? Have they saved any PSPs from falling lately? I thought so.
DreaDNoughT is back, and together with Kevin, They released "Mario Don't Drop the PSP - Halloween Edition" (v3.0).
